Companies face cash squeeze as late payment of bills grows - Companies are suffering a cash squeeze from delayed invoice payments as the credit crunch begins to hit the “real” economy.
Smaller businesses are complaining that some large customers have begun to extend their payment periods arbitrarily, putting a strain on their cashflows.

Full Audits in Decline - There has been a sharp decline in the number of companies filing audited accounts at Companies House following government legislation aimed at promoting business.
Research found that only 13% of 2006 accounts filed were fully audited.

A Trade Indemnity survey reported that in 1998 only 2% of UK trade invoices were paid on time and evidence suggested that payment periods continued to lengthen:
over half of UK small and medium enterprises claimed that payment times worsened
despite improved economic performance and only 12% of SME's receive payment within 30 days.
